I'm Lesley Braga — Fractional COO, daughter of immigrants, and the person who actually loves the stuff that makes most founders' eyes glaze over.
WHY I STARTED AZORA OPS
I know what it's like to be the first one in my family to do something.
My parents are immigrants. I come from a HUGE immigrant family. I know what it means to grow up living between two cultures, carrying expectations from both, and figuring out who you are in the middle of all of it.
First-gen founders are unique. Before we even start our businesses we've already overcome more than most people will ever face. We bring a resilience, a resourcefulness, and a perspective to business that can't be taught. But we also navigate challenges that other founders simply don't have and most business consultants don't understand that context.
I do. I'm not just culturally aware, I'm a cultural translator. I get the nuance of what you're carrying, how important success is to you and your family and I bring that sensitivity to every engagement.
You deserve a partner who understands the whole picture, not just the business, but the person building it.
And when I'm not digging into client operations,
my sister Stacy and I are at the kitchen table uncovering first gen stories
That's really where Unapologetically First Gen started — the conversations we were already having between us about growing up bicultural, navigating two worlds, and figuring out who we are in the middle of all of it. We just decided to hit record.
Now we bring those same honest, unfiltered conversations to guests who are immigrants and first-gen Americans — sharing their experiences, their expertise, and their stories.
We keep doing it because these stories matter. Because in a political climate that isn't friendly to immigrants, humanizing the immigrant experience isn't just important — it's necessary.
It's about being unapologetically ourselves. And creating space for others to do the same.
If you're a first-gen founder who's ready to stop doing everything and start building something that scales learn about my services here.
Here's the thing about operations.
Most people think of it as the dark basement of a business - the admin stuff happening way in the back that nobody wants to deal with. And honestly? That makes sense. You didn't start your business to build SOPs or think about back office systems. You started it to serve your clients.
But here's what I know: when operations are broken, everything else suffers. Your clients feel it. Your team feels it. And you feel it most of all.
I started Azora Ops because I genuinely love this stuff. I love organizing, analysing data, and figuring out how to build systems that fit where a business is going next, not just where it is today. While most people run from operations, I run toward it.
Almost two decades in financial services taught me everything.
I spent nearly 20 years in banking and financial services, 15 of them with one company, watching it grow and being right in the middle of scaling its operations. That's where I found my passion. That's where I learned how much I love this work.
When I moved on I discovered something else about myself - I'm adaptable. I pick up new systems quickly. I love documenting processes, hunting down bottlenecks, and clearing them. And honestly? Clearing a bottleneck is a high for me and it gives clients time back in their day.
But the most important thing I learned in all those years? Buy-in is everything. The best system in the world means nothing if the team isn't with you. My job is impossible without people wanting it to work. So I don't just build systems, I make sure they work for your team.
